Free tshirts

February 13th, 2010

Coming off a great week I feel like spreading the love, so the next 20 ‘Sweet Thing’ orders will get a Lhome logo ‘bandage’ tee absolutely free shipped alongside. The bandage shirt is in the store at lhome.bigcartel.com and as ever you can check out the ‘Sweet Thing’ shirt at Lhome.co.uk I’ll put a post up here when the bandage shirts are gone. Cheers

My Yard

February 7th, 2010

Can’t believe I haven’t put down anything about these guys but i’m going to right that wrong now. I’ve known Jake and Tim at Myyard in Bristol since I started Lhome a couple of years ago and back then they were based in a upstairs room of another clothing store in Bristol.

Pretty soon they took over most of the downstairs floor space and even sooner after that had their own store a couple of doors up on Park Street, which is a pretty prime street in the centre of Bristol. Every time i go in they have something new on the go but the most impressive thing I think is the My Yard clothing brand they have established in its own right, working with local artists.

I think the online store is coming really soon but if you’re ever in Bristol, definitely check em out half way down Park Street, they have an awesome range of brands. Also, I think I can spot a classic Lhome ‘Goldrush’ shirt in the middle of the stack HERE!

Torso Clothing

January 29th, 2010

It’s brilliant when you wander randomly around the internet following links and come across something great, which is what happened with Torso Clothing. I landed in australia on my wander, on the site of Chris Halaska, a designer from Sydney who linked through to Torso clothing that he runs. There’s not loads of designs, but as we know it’s all about quality over quantity, and there’s quite a bit of quality here.

I really love the Skull design and there’s a few others on there that I have my eye on. All the shirts are printed on American Apparel and there seems to be a sale on with all shirts going for $21.99 and shipping to the uk comes in at $10. So $31.99 doesn’t seem cheap for a sale item but then again some of the designs are really tidy, print looks good and we all know the quality of American Apparel so i’m not really complaining. Check them out HERE

Inkie Print

January 28th, 2010

I got an email through this morning from Inkie.co.uk. Normally with these types spec emails from companies, I just skim through and a lot leave my inbox before they have time to settle, but this new poster from inkie caught my eye and I love it. There’s some cool prints over at Inkie.co.uk but i think this one is my favourite.

I’m not crazy about the bottom of the print but the type style reminds me of my favourite classic Forny print that sits above my desk. At £75 the print would look good on any wall I reckon so check it out HERE

Hide Your Arms

January 25th, 2010

Andy from Hide Your Arms has been good to Lhome since I started so it’s really good to see him branching out into printing his own shirt. It looks like a really nice print too! What I really like is that, i’m sure it would’ve been easy and still sold if he had just printed Hideyourarms in a one colour font, but a really tidy little illustration and a 3 colour print shows a lot of care. My computer for some reason won’t load the store at the moment but i’m sure it’s just my crappy internet. The shirts come in at $21, which works out really good in the UK for a high quality print so go get yourself one at http://hideyourarms.storenvy.com/

Sweet Thing Making of

January 23rd, 2010

I put this little video together recently with bits and pieces filmed throughout the process of putting together the new ‘Sweet Thing’ shirt. Although this is a heavily abbreviated version of months of works, it all happened eventually and turned out great (you have no idea how good it felt to film the dolly up to the finished, folded shirt). So I hope somebody somewhere might have a watch and think, ‘hey i could do that’ and do!

Quick plug while i’m at it, the music in the video is ‘Sticks and stones’ by my mates in The Midnight Patrol You may recognise the dulcet tones of Stefan Abingdon singing who’s doing pretty well for himself and if you haven’t heard or seen this Ke$ha parody yet you’re in for a treat! HERE

‘Why only one tshirt bro…’

January 22nd, 2010

Sorry I haven’t posted since the start of the year but if you haven’t seen, the new ‘Sweet Thing’ shirt is out and it’s been so much fun to put together! I’ve already had some great messages and reviews, so to all of you who have checked out the shirt and everyone who has given so much support, and of course the people that have already bought one, thankyou!

I got an email yesterday from a guy who must have come across the new Sweet Thing and the email had no message, only in the subject it said ‘hey bro, why only one tshirt bro….’ The guy’s never gonna win a Pulitzer prize, but he asked a question (albeit without a question mark) a few people have mentioned in a round about way to me.

Doing one design at a time really suits me at the moment. I used to put out as many as the money from the previous design would allow me and for a while I had about 12 designs on the go, which was great to a certain point, but for the most part I found it a hassle. Managing all the designs not only left me with hardly any time for anything else, but also lost me the fun in designing and creating the best product I could. So now pretty much all of the first lot of prints have gone, I decided to put out one at a time and make it the best product I can. As long as long as the money comes back the same as I put it in, the process is worth it, trust me. So again thanks to everyone who has already bought a ‘Sweet Thing’ and for the guy who sent the email below, it’s so that these people get a product full of time, and quality when they bought a Lhome shirt.

Here’s a couple of shots i got through of the basic product shots of the new Sweet Thing shirts. Everything’s coming through really nicely and the promo shots taking shape, I can’t wait to get the final ones in. Think everything will be going live after the whole Christmas/New years rush so expect everything to kick off around 18th January. You can get in touch at kieran@lhome.co.uk if you want to drop me a line about the design or anything always good to hear from you guys.

Let The Beat Build!

December 16th, 2009

Came across this pretty sick video, was pretty sceptical when i kicked off but the whole thing definitely won me over at the end. That’s how you do a school project!

Paper Root

December 15th, 2009

Paper Root clothing designed one of my favourite t-shirts a while back now of people in a movie theatre and Greg got in touch recently about their new shirts, most of which I like a lot and he also just sent over a note about a 40% sale until the 18th December so i’m definitely picking up a couple. You have to use the code XMAS on checkout, the store’s after the jump.paperrootzoom1
